How does IPTV work on multiple devices?

IPTV on multiple devices works by counting streams, not installs. A device is anything with your login saved on it; a connection is a stream playing right now. Only connections count toward your plan:

• Your login is saved on four devices, but only the living room TV is on: 1 connection.
• The living room TV and a tablet in the kitchen both play: 2 connections.
• A TV left playing in an empty room: still 1 connection.
• Recording one channel while you watch another, in an app that records: 2 streams.
• A split screen showing several channels at once: one stream per picture.

MAG boxes work a little differently. Their portal is linked to the box's MAC address, so each MAG box needs its own MAC registered by the provider, and each one counts as a screen while it plays.

Can I watch IPTV on two TVs at the same time?

Yes, with a plan that includes at least two connections. Each TV can watch a different channel, movie or series.

1. Install a player app on the second TV, or on a stick plugged into it. It can be the same app as on the first TV or a different one.
2. Enter the same login you use on the first TV.
3. Start watching. Both TVs now play at once, each on its own connection.

Your internet has to carry every stream together. Plan for about 10 Mbps per Full HD screen and 25 Mbps per 4K screen, plus some room for phones. Two TVs in Full HD and one in 4K need about 45 Mbps before anything else. How much do extra screens cost with IPTV Nord?

IPTV Nord prices rise with each extra screen, and the cost per screen drops as you add more. All prices are totals in Canadian dollars, paid once by Interac e-Transfer.

What happens if too many devices play at once?

The extra screen simply will not play. It shows a connection message until one of the other streams stops, and the screens already playing are not affected. To avoid it:

• Stop the channel before you leave the room. Switching off only the TV may leave a stick or box playing in the background.
• Count your busiest evening, not the number of devices you own. If three people watch at once during the hockey game, choose three screens.
• Keep the login in your household. A login is meant for you and the people you live with. Under our terms and conditions, a login that shows more connections than the plan allows may get a password reset.

Can I use my subscription away from home?

Yes. You can watch on your phone on the bus or at the cottage, and that stream counts as one of your screens while it plays. If two TVs are on at home while you watch at the cottage, that is three connections. For trips abroad, read whether IPTV works outside Canada.
