IPTV Questions Using IPTV day to day

Why is my IPTV not working, and how do I check if it is down?

How do you find out why IPTV is not working?

Narrow it down in this order: one channel, all channels, one device, all devices. Each answer points to a different cause.

How can you tell a problem at home from an IPTV outage?

A home problem usually hits one device or everything online, while a server outage stops every channel on every device as the rest of your internet keeps working. This two-minute test tells them apart:

  1. Restart the modem, the router and the TV device, in that order.
  2. Play a YouTube video on the same TV device. If it fails too, the problem is your internet or Wi-Fi.
  3. Open your IPTV app on a phone on the same Wi-Fi. If it plays there, the first device is the problem.
  4. If all that works and IPTV still fails everywhere, the fault is on the provider's side.

There is no single IPTV network in Canada. Each provider runs its own servers, so one service's outage says nothing about another. Big internet outages, like the nationwide Rogers outage of July 2022, stop everything online, and your internet provider's outage page shows those.

One more cause: since 2022, the Federal Court has ordered major Canadian internet providers to block some servers that stream live sports without permission, during games. If channels fail only during games and only on one internet provider, that may be why. We explain what is known in whether Canadian internet providers block IPTV.

What should you send to support?

Send enough detail for support to find the fault in one reply:

  • Your username, never your password.
  • Your device and app, such as a Fire TV Stick with TiviMate.
  • What fails: one channel (with its name), one group, or everything, and whether movies play.
  • When it started and the exact error message, or a photo of the screen.
  • Whether other devices work, your internet provider and a speed test from the TV device.

IPTV Nord customers can reach us in Live Chat, 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to midnight (Eastern Time). We tell you whether a server has a known problem and can move your line to another server.

Is IPTV down right now in Canada?

There is no single answer, because every IPTV service runs its own servers. One provider can have an outage while others work normally. Check that other streaming apps play on your connection, then ask your own provider. IPTV Nord customers can ask us in Live Chat.

Why does my IPTV say my account has expired?

Either the plan has reached its end date, or the app is using an old login or playlist. IPTV Nord plans do not renew automatically, so the service stops at the end of the period until you renew. Read how to renew an IPTV subscription, then restart the app.
