What is the best IPTV app for iPhone and iPad?

App fees go to the app makers, never to your IPTV provider. iPlayTV, often recommended online, is made for Apple TV only, so it does not appear on an iPhone. Many App Store apps borrow the Smarters name; our IPTV Smarters guide lists the genuine ones.
How do you set up IPTV on an iPhone or iPad?
With UHF, it takes about five minutes:
- Open the App Store, search for UHF Love your IPTV and tap Get. The UHF App Store page shows the developer to look for.
- Open UHF, add a new playlist and choose Xtream.
- Paste the server URL (with http:// and the port, if your email shows one), then the username and password. Watch for a capital letter the keyboard adds by itself.
- Wait a minute or two. Channels appear first, then movies, series and the TV guide.

Which iPhone and iPad features make IPTV better?
- Picture in Picture. In UHF, keep a game playing in a small window while you answer a message.
- AirPlay. Send the picture to an Apple TV or an AirPlay-ready TV. Your device must stay on and nearby; see casting IPTV to a TV.
- PIN-locked folders. UHF can hide channel groups behind a code before kids borrow the iPad.
- The iPad's bigger screen. The TV guide is easier to read, which makes an iPad a good kitchen or bedroom TV.
