Can I use any IPTV app with my subscription?
Why does one subscription work in so many IPTV apps?
Because the app and the service are separate. An IPTV app is only a player, like a DVD player without a disc, and your provider's login comes in a few standard formats that most players understand:

Which IPTV apps will not work with your subscription?
- Apps locked to one provider. Some services publish a branded app with their own server built in. It only plays that service.
- Portal-only boxes. A MAG box signs in with a portal, and the provider must link your box's MAC address first. Our MAG and Formuler guide shows how.
- M3U-only players. VLC plays the channels from an M3U link, but with no TV guide and no movie library.
- Copycat apps. Apps that copy famous names, ask for payment before they play anything, or claim to include channels. Skip them.
Samsung and LG players such as Set IPTV and Smart IPTV do work, with one extra step: you add your playlist on the app maker's website using the TV's MAC address.
Is there an IPTV app that only needs a username and password?
Only a provider's own branded app, because its server address is built in. Every general player also asks for the server URL, since it has to know which provider to contact. The server URL is not the provider's website. It is the address in your welcome email, usually starting with http:// and sometimes ending in a port number such as :8080. If an app asks for a name, type anything: it is only a label.
Can you use two IPTV apps with one subscription?
