There is no clear winner yet, because a Vega OS stick only installs apps from the Amazon Appstore, and TiviMate, Sparkle TV and Kodi are not there. Amazon uses Vega OS on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select (2025) and the Fire TV Stick HD sold from 2026. To check yours, open Settings, My Fire TV, About: a software version that starts with 1 means Vega OS.

With a Vega stick you can look for a player in the Amazon Appstore and ask us about it before you pay its maker, use your Smart TV's own app store, or move the Vega stick to a bedroom and put a Fire TV Stick 4K Plus or a Google TV Streamer on the main TV.
