How do I change my IPTV provider, step by step?

Switching takes about ten minutes of work, spread over a few days so you are never without TV.

1. Check how your old plan ends

   Find the end date and check whether it renews by itself on a card or through PayPal. If it does, cancel the renewal with the seller, or under automatic payments in your PayPal settings.

2. Test the new provider first

   Ask for a free trial before the old plan runs out, and watch at your busiest hour.

3. Add the new login in the same app

   In TiviMate, open Settings, then Playlists, then Add playlist. In most other apps, you add a new user or playlist from the profile screen. The old playlist stays until you delete it.

4. Rebuild your favourites

   In most apps, favourites and hidden groups are saved per playlist, so they do not carry over. Channel names also differ between providers.

5. Pay for the new plan

   Start with a short plan if you are not sure yet. You can move to a longer one later.

6. Delete the old playlist

   Once the old plan ends, remove it so the app stops trying a dead login and the TV guide stays clean.

Can you use two IPTV providers or two apps at once?

Yes. You can keep two subscriptions from different providers, either as two playlists in one app or in two separate apps on the same device.

• One app, two playlists. Most apps allow it. The free version of TiviMate plays one playlist, and more than one needs TiviMate Premium, as our TiviMate guide explains.
• Two apps, one device. That works too, for example one app for live TV and another for movies.
• Connections stay separate. A stream from one provider does not count against the screen limit of the other. Two apps using the same login, though, count as two screens.

Paying for two services costs double, so most people keep the overlap to a few days. See whether any IPTV app works with your subscription before you pick one.

How do I change my IPTV server?

Your server is part of your login, so changing it means editing one address, not reinstalling anything.

• Xtream Codes: edit the playlist and replace the server URL. With the same provider, the username and password often stay the same.
• M3U link: replace the old link with the new one.
• MAG box: type the new portal URL under Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals. The new provider must register your MAC address first, as shown in our MAG box guide.
• Samsung and LG apps: update the playlist on the app maker's website. The app fee you paid stays with the TV, so a new provider usually does not mean paying for the app again.
